Iskcon Temple Guwahati – A Peaceful Sanctum Sanctorum
Life had been very hectic and really busy for a long time. Spirituality has been a part of me since I was young, but as I am entering into the second phase of the life, it has slowly attracted me towards itself. Besides providing me mental peace and spiritual satisfaction, it is now helping me to balance my professional life and personal life more properly. I never miss a chance to visit the Iskcon temple to whichever state I go. If there is a council of Lord Krishna, which is Isckon, then I make sure to visit it, no matter which in which state I am traveling.
As this time I was in Assam, I decided to plan a trip to the Isckon temple along with my kids and my wife. Iskcon is managed by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness and its branches are spreading to all over the country. Even there are shrines of the Lord in my state, which is West Bengal and I have visited it almost hundred times. As this time I was in a different the feeling was more powerful to establish that connection with the Lord.
Iskcon temple in Guwahati is located in the center of the city atop a hill. The temple is at the summit of the hill and therefore the entire city of Guwahati was observable from there. The experience was indeed lovely. I deliberately planned the trip in the evening hours so that we could enjoy the ‘aarti’ and also enjoy the scintillating view of the peaceful city. The view of the fast expanding city is nearly unimaginable. Moreover, Guwahati being one of the world’s top 100 fast growing cities, the panorama can be experienced. Situated at greater heights, the noise and pollution are far off. The tranquility surrounds it from all four sides and the peascefulness is unexplainable.
We took a side walk to the adjacent laces of the temple to sit in the lap of the nature and enjoy the beauty of it. The time was pleasing as the sun was setting and crimson red color was smeared all over the bluish sky. The ‘bhakti’ and tranquil touched us in every possible manner.
